Bollywood Star Govinda Accidentally Shoots Himself, Condition Stable
Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda, 60, was rushed to the nearest hospital earlier today after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his licensed revolver, according to a senior Mumbai Police official. The incident occurred as Govinda was preparing to depart for Kolkata. While handling the revolver, it reportedly slipped from his grasp, resulting in an unintended discharge that struck his leg.
“We had an early morning flight to Kolkata for a show. I had already reached the airport when this unfortunate incident happened. Govinda ji was getting ready to leave for the airport when the accident took place,” shared his manager, Shashi Sinha. Medical professionals successfully removed the bullet, and Govinda’s condition is currently stable, with him recovering in the hospital.
In addition to his success in the film industry, Govinda has had a notable political career. He won the 2004 general elections from the Mumbai North constituency on a Congress ticket, defeating veteran BJP leader Ram Naik. Although he later stepped away from the Congress, Govinda made headlines again earlier this year when he officially joined the Shiv Sena, signaling a new phase in his political journey.
